Mariami Elias

Managing Director/Founder

Hailing from Sirori Simba by Lake Victoria, Mariam Elias, with a background in family commerce and a University of Kent education, founded Illumina Consulting in Dar Es Salaam. Merging a Masters in Law with business acumen, her firm excelled in Real Estate, Natural Resources, and Logistics projects in Tanzania. With a keen focus on environmental and social responsibility, Mariam returned to address artisanal gold mining dangers in her home region. Partnering with North American allies, she launched a mining consultancy, prioritizing mercury & cyanide-free extraction, site mapping, and mine optimization for a sustainable impact.

Dominique Lucas

COO

Having worked during the first half of his career as a jeweler and gemologist based out of Canada, a deep curiosity sent him seeking the sources of his raw materials. He has extensive experience working in gold extraction across Sub-Saharan Africa including Geita Gold Mine (GGM). A key part of his focus and expertise has revolved around artisanal mining & production techniques. Dominique is thus uniquely placed to direct and oversee on the ground operations.
